Oska Bright wins The Pam Crosby Memorial Award
Pam Crosby, a long-time member of the Persons with Developmental Disabilities Regional Board in Canada, was a strong supporter and advocate for the rights of people with learning disabilities. She was one of the most vocal supporters of Canada's Picture this…film festival, and of the kinds of work showcased.
In memory of Pam the Picture this…film festival has created the Pam Crosby Memorial Award. It will be presented this year to the Oska Bright film festival. Oska Bright, Carousel's original award winning international film and digital media festival, established in 2003, is run by a steering committee of learning disabled artists and filmmakers. Oska Bright has been one of the premier showcases in the world for films made by people with learning disabilities. The award will be accepted by Jason Eade from Oska Bright in Canada in February.
