Jonny Schachter is an English-Canadian writer who has been producing stories and poems for Carousel Radio since we started the podcast. In this show, Jonny talks about his family, his upbringing, his inspirations and introduces a selection of his work. This is the first in a series of podcasts looking at the work of Artists with a Learning Disability.
Lizzie Emeh is an award-winning singer who made history as the first solo artist with a learning disability to release an album to the general public of her own songs. Lizzie works with art charity Heart n Soul. In this show, Lizzie talks to Ewan from Carousel Radio about her music and personal story and plays selections of her music.
Daniel Wakeford is a singer-songwriter from the UK’s burgeoning learning disabled music scene, based in Brighton. Daniel has been writing and recording music since 2009. He has amassed an impressive back catalogue, in excess of 60 songs. Daniel has gained a cult following, due to his show-stealing appearances on Channel 4’s ‘The Undateables’.
Louis Walkden is a musician and singer/songwriter from Brighton. In 2018 Louis received a commission from Drake Music to explore the idea of recycling and, in particular, write a song themed around championing charity shops. In this podcast Louis presents his music and talks about some of his interests.
