Oska Bright Film Festival’s Lead Programmer Matthew Hellett will have his film Mrs Sparkle included in the BFI National Film Archive as part of a significant collection of disability on screen.
It’s so brilliant to be included in the BFI Archive. It gives me a sense of freedom and liberation that it’s getting out there. I really hope it gives the film another life and gives it more opportunity to be seen by other people. Maybe more people might be interested in programming it, I wouldn’t mind a trip to Thailand.
I hope this is just the start of a collection of learning disability film within the national archive.
