Putting pen to paper, paint to canvas. Films highlighting art created by learning disabled people from around the world. This screening will feature a talk from two local learning disabled artists, Sarah Watson and William Hankeom, who’s exhibition Wonderland can be visited after the screening.

ANGELA’S JOURNEY
Angela Burchill, Rourke McMonagle, 3mins, Ireland

Angela visits the Harry Clarke Room of the Crawford Gallery, making notes and sketches from the religious images she sees. She then takes a journey across the city to St. Finbarr’s Cathedral where she sees the Cathedral’s golden angel and stone carved ornamentation.

Stephen’s work demonstrates a meticulous process of mark making and layering of gridded drawings on Perspex. In the film the camera pays close attention to the careful development of this lacework process by filming through the transparent surfaces the artist works on.
