Carousel has been given a boost from Global’s Make Some Noise to help support the amazing work we do with young people with learning disabilities.

We were expecting a grant for £24k. But thanks to the generosity of listeners across Global’s radio brands, Global’s Make Some Noise were able to donate £90k – almost four times the amount we were expecting.

This extra money will fund additional projects including a creative arts training programme, and a project led by young people with learning disabilities. This funding will help us support over 4,000 children and young people with learning disabilities.

Global’s Make Some Noise have supported 31 small charities to help further their work with children and young people. To find out more visit: makesomenoise.com

Opportunities for young people with a learning disability to express themselves and ‘Make Some Noise’ of their own are increasingly scarce. Often with additional sensory impairment, physical disabilities and communication difficulties, they often face bullying and isolation. The money raised by Global’s Make Some Noise and the listeners of Heart Sussex will enable access to a range of ‘Young Carousel’ projects across music, radio and film, providing a means of communication and expression for disadvantaged youngsters.
