Music: Shut Up and Listen

Carousel supports DJs and musicians with a learning disability to create their own music and develop recording and performing skills.

We ensure that their music is widely listened through touring, and at our Blue Camel Club and Rock House.

The Shut Up and Listen Radio Show, a show that celebrates learning disabled music and musicians is managed and presented by a committee of experienced learning disabled musicians and DJs.

What we do

Radio – The ‘Shut Up And Listen!’ Radio Show is an exciting new show that promotes music made by learning disabled musicians, from around the world.

Bands – Beat Express, Zombie Crash, Fuzzbomb Band, Ghost-hearted, Flash Rockers and Dancing Rock Queens: bands who all write, record and perform their own music.

Shut Up and Listen DJs – a group of artists who create and perform original music using various music technology.

Rock House – a regular event and website to celebrate the burgeoning Learning Disabled music scene in Brighton and beyond. http://therockhousebrighton.blogspot.co.uk/

Outreach in schools – led by Carousel artists to promote music making amongst children attending special schools
